My Values

I care for the individual and encourage that same mindset for each child in my care. I commit myself to provide a loving, safe and nurturing environment for children to flourish.

Hello, my name is Birute Slater (Bee-roo-te). My parents made Australia home after leaving Lithuania, hence the unusual Christian name. If anything, it is a good Ice Breaker.

I have 17 year old daughter who is studying full time to be a primary school Teacher, and a 16 year old son who is a first year Apprentice in Cabinet Making. I also have a happy interactive 11 month old daughter, who would dearly love to have some play mates closer to her age as well.

I have worked in an After School Care program, and briefly ran a Vacation Care program while the Co-ordinator was on leave.

I have also worked in high-pressure Management positions in a large corporate businesses, and various roles in mid-size businesses. I was always appreciated for my professionalism, 'people focus' and calm disposition.

I have a passion for people and embrace the challenges and opportunities that caring for your child provides.
 

A day in my care

I desire to encourage each child to become a valued member of their new ‘extended family’.  My role is to provide lots of safe activities designed to stimulate their developing brain and body, while making 'positive deposits into each child’s self esteem bank account.'

Each day with your child is precious -- a delight for me to experience, and I will endeavour to capture and communicate these moments to each parent.

These are very formative and special years of your children, and I consider it a privilege to work alongside you as I care for your child/ren.
