My Values

When it comes to caring for children, I am passionate about giving your child a wonderful experience that will create happy memories and positive interactions.

I enjoy spending time at home watching children grow and encouraging them to reach their milestones.

I am fortunate to be able to be at home with my youngest son, and am aware of the aspects of transitioning your child into family day care.

My husband and I, with our two sons, come from the land of the long white cloud, New Zealand, and we love our new home here in Brisbane, Australia.

I am a fully qualified Social Worker, and hold my Bachelor Degree of Applied Social Science, Diploma in Social Work, and am currently also pursuing my Certificate III in Childcare.

Children in my care will be given respect and dignity: all of my social work training encompasses the right of every child to have the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills in a nurturing environment.
 

A day in my care

My philosophy is to provide a genuine, warm, caring environment with varied play experiences, while enhancing your child’s development in achieving his or her individual milestones.

For example, to develop language skills we make use of flash cards and have several reading times throughout the day. For gross motor development, we have a selection of outdoor toys, games and utilise music for dance.

TV time is kept to a minimum as I like to use a variety of alternative activities to experience and to learn new skills.

I have plenty of energy and enjoy interacting with children in my care, even if this means getting dressed up as a fairy princess or batman’s sidekick!  We all get a good laugh by the end of the day!

Occasionally, we participate in community events that are run for children, and we attend Playgroup every Wednesday to socialise with other children in Bayside Family Day Care, and we use the Toy Library to vary your child’s play experience.

Some days we may go for a walk to the park and enjoy a picnic lunch.

During a day in my care, your child will be having lots of talking, singing, playing, dancing and laughter.
