My Values

As a mother of a 9 month old, I have decided after 13 years of working in childcare, to stay at home and be a family daycare educator.

This gives me the opportunity to spend time with my son, while continuing to do the job I love and that is to nurture and guide every child in my care.

I believe that one of the most rewarding and fulfilling jobs is that of a care provider and this drives me to provide an environment that is positive, safe, nurturing and stimulating, where children can learn, develop and have lots of fun.

Seeing a child learn new skills and knowing that I have contributed in some way, gives me an enormous amount of pleasure and seeing the pride and joy on their faces is priceless.

I value highly the relationships I have with the families and believe that open communication is vital in providing consistency of care for the child and working together to produce happy and confident children.
 

A day in my care

A day in my care is full of lots of fun and learning. We take part in both indoor and outdoor activities, depending on the weather of course. We live in a beautiful leafy environment, so we will take advantage of this and explore these surrounds when we can. Also, outings to the park will be quite frequent. Here, we can climb, slide and just have fun running around. In the outdoors we can also paint, play in the sandpit, have the occasional picnic and do lots more….

Our indoor play time involves a range of different activities, focusing on the different developmental needs and interests of each child.

These activities include story time, dress ups, dramatic play, cooking, puzzles, music time, block building and lots more.

I believe that children learn through play, so there will be lots of free play time, where children can make their own choices in what toys they want to play with and there will be structured play activities too.

We have a set routine, though our day is flexible depending on the needs of each child. Meal times are a chance to interact with each other as a whole group and give us the opportunity to share stories and talk about the foods we are eating.

We also have rest/sleep periods throughout the day where the children can refresh themselves before taking on the next part of their exciting and fun filled day.
