POLICY:

 

For safety and morale, equipment provided to Carers within the scheme will be clean, presentable, and in good repair.

 

PROCEDURE:

 

The scheme will maintain all equipment that meets Australian Safety Standards, is in good repair; is presentable and clean.

 

The scheme will dispose of any equipment that is past its recommended usage date.

 

The scheme will ensure that authorised safety inspectors will check safety equipment used in Carers cars annually.

 

Care Providers must return equipment in a clean condition.  Ordinary ‘wear and tear’ is acceptable - dirt, mould and damaged equipment are not.

 

When equipment is returned to the office, the equipment will be inspected and if it is not considered clean, the Care Provider will be given the option of either

 

  • Taking the equipment home and re-cleaning it, or
  • Given the option to pay for the cleaning
  • The office will employ a professional cleaning service, and the account forwarded to the Care Provider.
