POLICY
Bayside
Family Day Care
is committed to providing quality childcare and aims to provide positive experiences
that enhance learning and development that nurtures the child’s self esteem and
is based on their individual interests and abilities.
PROCEDURE
Care
will be provided that:
- Is
individual, personal and specific to each child’s needs; and
- Nurtures
each child’s self esteem, self-reliance and competence; and
- Promotes
learning for all developmental areas, based on family and community life;
and
- Provides
an environment that is challenging, stimulating and supports learning and
development
- Includes
a balance between indoor and outdoor experiences; individual and group
activities; and
- Ensures
that a wide range of activities are available to meet the interests and
developing needs of each child; and
- Includes
appropriate opportunities for children to make choices and solve problems
- Meets the
individual needs of children from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds; and
- Meets the
individual needs of children with different abilities and special needs;
and
- Reflects
the indigenous and multicultural nature of our society; and
- Promotes
and maintains open communication between each child’s family and the
Carer; regularly communicates about the child’s interests and activities;
and
- Children
are at all times cared for in a safe and hygienic environment; and
- Food
provided to a child by the Carer is of a nutritious, sufficient, and has
regard to the child’s health, allergies, cultural and religious
requirements and preferences; and
- Sleeping
arrangements for a child in care takes into account the individual needs
of the child and the family’s cultural and religious preferences; and
- An
ongoing record will be kept up-to-date on the child’s interests,
development and experiences
