4.11      SIGNING CHILDREN IN & OUT OF CARE

POLICY

 

Bayside Family Day Care has a commitment to ensure the safety of children being transferred into and

out of their care.

 

PROCEDURE

 

·         When a child arrives into care, the authorised Carer must receive the child

·         An authorised adult must deliver the child into care

·       The custodial parent (including guardian or authorised person) must record the actual arrival and departure times of their child or children attending care; the service must ensure these entries are signed or initialed by the custodial parent at the time of arrival and departure on each day of care.

·         When a child leaves the Family Day Care home, the Carer must ensure the person who receives the child is the child’s parent or an adult who is authorised in writing by the child’s parent to receive the child

·         if it is not possible to comply with the above clause the parent must provide verbal approval for the child to be picked up by an adult, followed by written authorization within 24 hours

·         When a parent requests that a child attend an out-of-school organized activity, for example, sports, music or drama training then the parent must give written permission to the Carer. The Carer will sign the child out of care at the agreed venue at the agreed time.
