POLICY

 

Community Childcare Inc. supports and encourages the training and professional development of staff, Care Provider, Executive and Management Committee Members within the organization.

 

PROCEDURE

 

The Management and staff of the Bayside Family Day Care Scheme are fully committed to the Quality Assurance process.

·         The scheme engages highly respected Early Childhood Adult Educators.

·         All staff and Care Providers are expected to participate in all Quality Assurance Training offered through the scheme.

·         The cost of this training will be borne fully by the organization.

 

The Management of this service attempts to provide for incentives to be paid to Care Providers who engage in extra training.

·         Depending on budget availability financial supplements may be available to support training undertaken outside of the service

·         Carers must apply for a training supplement and provide proof of the cost of the training

·         The Manager will make the final decision in relation to availability of funds and the amount that will be paid to individual Carers to supplement training outside the service

 

Care Providers who attend interstate, national, or international conferences:

·         Carers are expected to meet the costs of the conference.

·         As self-employed contractors, Care Providers are entitled to tax benefits attached to training expenses.

·         A Care Provider may apply to the Manager for some assistance where they can demonstrate a value to the scheme and an enhancement of their professional practice

·         A submission by the Care Provider would be required in writing to the Manager of the service

·         The Manager would consider the submission in view of the available training funds in the budget and make a recommendation to the Management Committee

·         Should the Care Provider be successful in their application, a summary of the training and learning outcomes would be required in writing to be presented to the Management Committee in the meeting immediately following the conference.

 

Care Provider Representative of the Management Committee

·         A Care Provider may be a representative of the Management Committee at a conference where they can demonstrate a value to the organization and an enhancement to their professional practice.

·         A submission by the Care Provider would be required in writing to the Manager of the service. The level of assistance would be viewed in relation to the Bayside FDC training budget and the Manager would make a recommendation to the Management Committee in this instance. Funding from the Management Committee is also an option in these circumstances.

·         Should the Care Provider be successful in their application, a summary of the training and their learning outcomes would be required in writing to be presented to the Management Committee in the meeting immediately following the conference.

 

Staff who attend interstate, national, or international conferences:

·         A submission must be made to the Management Committee for funding for conference attendance where they can demonstrate a value to the scheme and an enhancement of their professional practice

·         Should the staff member be successful in their application, a summary of the training and learning outcomes would be required in writing to be presented to the Management Committee in the meeting immediately following the conference

 

Management Committee Members who attend interstate, national, or international conferences:

·         Can apply to the Executive Committee for funding
