My Values |
|
Each child should have the chance to reach his or her full potential – each one is a unique individual! I believe in providing a loving, positive and nurturing environment, in which the healthy development of your child’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social skills occurs. I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to share my home and these values with your child. When my children where growing up (I have 2 daughters aged 16 and 18 years old), my husband and I often had a house full of kids. We encouraged them all to become independent and creative – making things, letting their incredible imaginations lead them into all sorts of adventures! Now it is the Family Day Care, neighbours' and friends' children who come over to feed our ducks and chickens, ‘have a chat’ and stay a while! Getting along with other people is an essential skill to us all. Playgroup, and meeting up with other carers and children, provides larger group social interaction. One-on-one i8nteraction is also vital and I love to get on eye level with a small child and focus on hearing what they have to say – of course I have the most beautiful conversations! Priceless!

A day in my care |
|
After greeting each child, while the adult signs them into Family Day Care, indoor activities are available until everyone has arrived. Then we venture out onto the covered deck to have fun and learn. Activities include play dough, threading cotton reels, blocks, Duplo, singing and dancing, dress ups plus toys of course. Each child chooses what they want to do and I am on hand with help and cuddles. All the activities are changed around regularly. We all sit down and eat morning tea together and then continue playing until lunchtime. Once a week we go to play group and return home in time for lunch. Then its rest time. When we are all awake, we go outside into the garden to feed the ducks and chickens, water our plants and have fun running around. We have afternoon tea on the deck and continue enjoying ourselves! Then its home time!
I take lots
of photos of our day and if a parent or guardian wishes to talk
about their child, we make time to do so in private, without little
ears around and also so I can give you my full attention. |
