My Values

I would have to say that children -- and being around children -- are something I really enjoy; and having them learn and smile makes me feel as if I have accomplished something important though the day.

I value being and becoming an individual; whether child or  adult, I believe we should nurture each personality to develop and realise all that is personally possible.

Children to me are  just 'little adults' in the making, who need guidance to become who and what they dream of being.

A day in my care

When you place your child in my care I offer you a safe and nurturing environment in which your child -- and you -- can feel welcome and comfortable.

A warm family environment is what I believe a family Day Care setting should be: a place where each child can learn, laugh and also have hugs and cuddles with someone who they can feel at ease with.

My daily routines are straightforward, such as: sleep times-nap times, setting the table for snack and lunch time, then sitting together to eat, reading time together and hand washing.

I also believe in free time where a child can develop individual imagination -- for this, I have an area set up as a 'Home Corner' with, Kitchen, Tea set, Dress ups, Chalkboard and Clothes line.

I have days for Culture, Exploring (such as finding smooth or rough objects) and Cooking.

There is outdoor play as well (undercover):

*Slides
*Cubby house
*Obstacles

Many more things to encourage your children to learn and have a fun day:

*Play dough
*Crafts
*Dolls
*Puzzles
*Music and dance
*Puppets
*Building blocks

I also promote dental hygiene, and being 'sun smart.'

I also believe that as a parent it is nice to see what my child has done through the week, so I will have photos and reports for each child.

I also like to get parents’ input about their values, and the structures they have in place for their children; and I am happy to incorporate these into the children’s day.

The children and I attend Playgroup and we also go to a small park at least once a week -- something which the children and I both greatly enjoy.

After lunch, and then rest-time, we enjoy playing in the garden (with water play under the sprinkler in the hotter months), dress-up, the cubby house and role play.

We then move inside to tidy up and get ready for home-time.
