My Values |
My Playroom is filled with lots of natural light and large windows. It is decorated with pictures of trucks, fairies, dinosaurs and posters of each child and their families. There is a central table for activities, or an area to play with trains, puzzles, farmyard and blocks. I have created an environment which fosters learning and development through planned experiences ad self-selected interests. Activities chosen are based on observations, then programmed to encourage fine motor skills, literacy, cognitive development, gross motor skills and life skills. Each day is different. Twice a week, we go to Playgroup, or we may visit another carer at their home, or invite carers to join us; and there is always a visit to the park. Hours of Care: Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 5.00pm

A day in my care |
I like to greet my parents and children and to provide an opportunity for a chat about the things that they have been doing and what we have planned for the day. With a kiss and hug and a wave goodbye to Mum or Dad, children settle in with indoor activities until we break for Morning Tea and toileting. Mid-morning activities may include outdoor play or painting. Time out for lunch with a story or two before little ones are off to bed for a well-earned rest. The playroom is open for business again as little ones rise with a variety of activities they can self-select. Afternoon tea and toileting with gathering of bags and communication books for parents, then we have indoor and outdoor time until parents arrive. Note: We must remember that things do not always go according to plan, and activities may change due to weather or moods of children in care. We must always be flexible.
