My Values

I am fortunate to come from a very close family; I believe that our children need a nurturing, healthy and loving environment for them to grow up to be happy and confident individuals.

My Playroom is filled with lots of natural light and large windows. It is decorated with pictures of trucks, fairies, dinosaurs and posters of each child and their families.

There is a central table for activities, or an area to play with trains, puzzles, farmyard and blocks.

I have created an environment which fosters learning and development through planned experiences ad self-selected interests.

Activities chosen are based on observations, then programmed to encourage fine motor skills, literacy, cognitive development, gross motor skills and life skills.

Each day is different.  Twice a week, we go to Playgroup, or we may visit another carer at their home, or invite carers to join us; and there is always a visit to the park.

Hours of Care: Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 5.00pm

A day in my care

A day in my care includes lots of fun activities.  All activities are based on your child's individual age and interests -- i.e. play dough, painting, drawing, puzzles, story telling, blocks, craft activities, music and movement and dress-ups, to name but a few.

I like to greet my parents and children and to provide an opportunity for a chat about the things that they have been doing and what we have planned for the day. With a kiss and hug and a wave goodbye to Mum or Dad, children settle in with indoor activities until we break for Morning Tea and toileting.

Mid-morning activities may include outdoor play or painting. Time out for lunch with a story or two before little ones are off to bed for a well-earned rest.

The playroom is open for business again as little ones rise with a variety of activities they can self-select. Afternoon tea and toileting with gathering of bags and communication books for parents, then we have indoor and outdoor time until parents arrive.

Note: We must remember that things do not always go according to plan, and activities may change due to weather or moods of children in care. We must always be flexible.
