My Values
My name is Rojana. I come from Thailand. I have a Bachelor Degree in Education, and I was a school teacher in Thailand for more than 10 years. I also hold a Certificate III in Childcare, and now I am studying for a Diploma in Childcare. My values as a person involve tolerance, understanding, acceptance and respect for others and their differences.
Trust and honesty are core values of family life, which I observe at home and take to work.
As a carer, my values for children include promoting individuality, independence and the ability for children to help themselves. I believe in providing a loving and caring environment for the children in my care, as well as observing high standards of safety, hygiene, security and most importantly, the rights of the child.
A day in my care
While providing a clean and secure environment for the children, my daily routine for Family Day Care unit seeks to promote the domains of child development ( i.e. the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and language domains) through activities.A day in my Family Day Care unit starts with the most important part of the day, when children are welcomed and farewell their parents. They are then encouraged to participate in group activities such as story telling, musical movements and the like, followed by group activities and morning tea.
After morning tea, children can choose an individual activity they would like to do, such as painting, puzzles, drawing etc. Lunch and rest time follows and then afternoon tea.
The remainder of the day is dedicated to outdoor play on either an individual or group basis for the child according to their choice and the weather.
