My Values

I aim to make sure all the children in my care are happy and healthy; they all receive lots of affection. I enjoy spending time with the younger children watching them develop and discover new and exciting things. I especially enjoy teaching the children about nature and the environment in which we live.

A day in my Care

I aim for the children to have fun while they are in my care. I use the local area as a learning environment. We go for nature walks through the park, we might pick up leaves or other specimens of interest, and we try to spot local wildlife. This is a great way for the children to learn. The children ask questions and talk about the different things we have seen.

After a busy morning, the children have lunch together and then it is rest time. The afternoon involves picking up the school-aged children, afternoon tea and free play. At home the children have different experiences they can choose from including, puzzles, books, slide and cubby house, dolls, and play dough.

We also attend Playgroup on a regular basis. This provides the children with an opportunity to interact within a larger group. The playgroup is run by Bayside Family Day Care’s Playgroup Coordinator, Samantha Jackson. The playgroup is structured with different activities each week. A strong emphasis is placed on inclusion and multicultural activities.
