My Values

I believe that children are our future and that we need to nurture and guide their growth and development from birth.

I hold a Bachelor of Education Degree, a Graduate Diploma in Special Education and a Certificate in Primary School Teaching, with full registration from the Queensland College of Teachers.

With many years of early childhood teaching experience, and a grown-up family, I have the time to enjoy the privilege of caring for your precious child within the comfort of a loving, warm and happy home.

I welcome the opportunity to use my skills, knowledge and experience in helping your child to learn as they grow.
In raising and educating five children of my own, I can help you as a parent to feel secure and happy in the knowledge that your child is enjoying high quality and meaningful care.

I value and understand the importance of the interconnectedness of children to their learning environment, and to their family and home.

Satisfying your family’s needs is important to me. I will work closely with you, the parent, on an individual basis, to provide the very best start in life for your child. As you come this way only once, I believe it is so important to develop your child’s potential abilities for a fulfilling and positive life in an enjoyable and satisfying way.

A day in my care

I provide an exciting and balanced program of experiential learning, which promotes sensorimotor intelligence and perceptual strategies for strong conceptual development.

Activities focus on children’s learning by “doing” and gently encouraging an awareness of the world through seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, tasting and feelings (emotions).

A wide variety of play experiences, both indoor and outdoor, encourages your child to be curious, to explore, to discover, to imagine and to create, all of which help to promote wellbeing and happiness, and foster self-esteem, self-reliance and resilience.

Your child will be given opportunities to make decisions, and to be positively assertive, confident, and considerate, both as an individual and a member of a group.

As an educator and care provider I give you peace of mind by ensuring that your child’s individual needs are met. Your child’s social, emotional, intellectual, lingual, physical and recreational potential will be developed caringly within a supportive and safe home.

Being a professional teacher and experienced mother, I can offer your child a headstart towards effective and lifelong learning.

I am very much supported and assisted by my husband, who understands the importance of safety and attention to detail.
