My Values

I love children, and I believe that every child has the right to feel safe and secure; and to receive nurturance.

It is because of this belief that I place a great emphasis on safety when we are either at home and when we are on an outing.

I am a warm person, and I believe that children respond best through positive encouragement, and mutual respect. I would love to think that every child who has been in my care has a strong sense of self-worth and feels good about him/herself.

I also believe that the early years are great years for developing social skills; and for stimulating children’s curiosity. As a result, I provide many opportunities for the children to interact with other children and with other adults; and I offer many exciting outings during the year.

A day in my care

I provide care for both school aged children and under-school aged children. As a result, early mornings usually consist of the children having breakfast, preparing for school, and dropping the children off to school.

Twice a week (Monday and Wednesday mornings) I take the younger children to playgroup; and on Friday mornings we go to storytelling at the library or visit the park.

Tuesday and Thursday we do craft activities. After clean up, we usually have lunch and a story; and then the children have a rest time.

We then collect the school children, have afternoon tea, and then the children either engage in free supervised play or in craft activities until home time.

During the school holidays I offer a number of experiences for the children such as visits to the museum, the Art Gallery, and to the movies.
