My Values

Foremost, I value children.

I really love to see them exploring the environment and to see those trying new things. I am an adventurous and creative person and my job as a Care Provider gives me the opportunity to provide special experiences for the children thereby encouraging creativity in children.

If the child feels that every day in my care is an adventure and that every day is seen in a new light. It’s encouraging for children to remain so honest and frank.

I find it so valuable for each child in my care to develop respect for their own self: to feel confident, and to be a rounded, caring person.

I strongly encourage each child to believe in him or herself and I try to help each child to feel special. I believe that if a child has high self-esteem, then they are more likely to try new things and to share their skills with others.

A day in my care

I have school-aged children in my care. We have a very active family with three beautiful and well mannered foster boys. We are up early in the mornings making breakfast and getting ready for primary school.

When I have children under school-age, our mornings consist of a variety of activities which may include art and craft activities; pretend cooking with play-dough, dress-ups, dancing and singing; and outside play.

We have a great outside area and the children love to play outside on the fire engine or play gym, with balls, on trikes and on flying turtles.

Children learn through play and that is why I like to provide such a variety of activities and games.

Morning tea and lunch are included between the activities. We do have a rest after lunch if the children need it.

Older children will have a story read to them. Pick up time for school children is followed by afternoon tea.

The older children then do homework, and then all of the children usually go outside and play together.

Some children have dinner with us and have the option to stay over if the parent requires it.
